Darren Hart grew up in Los Angeles during the pre-internet era of AOL, Compuserve, and Bulletin Board Systems, initially diving into personal computers and programming. In the early 2000s, he joined a company inspired by Drugstore.com, where he discovered a passion for pharmacy operations and compliance. His only prior pharmacy experience was observing his Uncle Wellington in Portland, Oregon, who ran a pharmacy with kindness, patience, and a focus on patient education.
Inspired by these values, Darren worked as a pharmacy technician, then moved with his wife and kids to Puyallup, Washington, to complete prerequisites for pharmacy school. He graduated from the University of Montana in 2013 and became a Pharmacy Manager at Target (before CVS acquired it), managing multiple stores while treating patients like family.
With support from family, friends, and mentors, Darren founded Hart Family Pharmacy. He enjoys time with his family and miniature dachshund-shih tzu mix, Ollie, as well as true crime stories and antiquing for pharmacy memorabilia.
